I've just been wondering about the meaning of this early 19th century engraving, with its original hand colouring. He is touching the bell-pull, but also appears to be chucking the comely Regency lady under the chin. Could the swirl at the end of the caption be an "e" - as in "touch the belle"? Or am I reading too much into it?

Whatever, it shows off the lovely Regency fashions, as currently seen on tv.
